The CTI Education Group (CTI) is a fully registered, private higher education institution in South Africa. In 2006, CTI formed a partnership with the Midrand Graduate Institute (MGI) and today the group has CTI and MGI campuses across South Africa catering for both full-time and part-time learners within the fields of Information Technology, Commerce, Creative Arts & Communication, Psychology & Counselling and Law.
In 2011, Pearson Education, the world’s largest education organisation, acquired a 75% stake in CTI. Pearson seeks to serve the higher education market by providing learning materials, assessments, teachers and other educational solutions and tools. This partnership will ensure that Pearson’s strong brand, educational resources and global reach will leverage CTI’s strengths and transform the higher education landscape in Southern Africa.
Through its partnerships and affiliations with the London School of Business and Management, Edexcel (UK), Heriot-Watt University (UK), Midrand Graduate Institute and UNISA (South Africa’s largest university) and by producing its own high quality qualifications, CTI offers and supports a wide variety of international and national career qualifications ranging from Information Technology and Business to Accounting, Marketing, Management, Graphic Design, Psychology, Tourism and Law. Qualifications offered and supported through CTI and MGI range across four faculties: the Information Technology Faculty, the Commerce Faculty, the Creative Arts & Communication Faculty and the Law & Social Sciences Faculty.
Learners can study towards an international qualification through the London School of Business and Management, a London-based higher education institution, as well as further their studies through Heriot-Watt University, a Scottish Federal University (UK), right here in South Africa. Alternatively, learners who would prefer to study a South African registered degree can either study a CTI degree or, through its partnership with Midrand Graduate Institute (MGI), study towards a South African registered MGI qualification at its main campus in Midrand, or at any of its many campuses nationally.
Within the Information Technology Faculty, CTI’s unique study options make it possible for learners to fast-track their IT studies and gain employment within one year. CTI is the only higher education institution in Africa that is accredited by the South African Council on Higher Education (CHE) as well as the British Accreditation Council (BAC) in the UK. This unique, dual accreditation ensures that all programmes and academic service delivery (both for local and international programmes) are of the highest local and international standards and that learners have more comprehensive employment opportunities available to them upon completion of their studies.
CTI has degree-conferring status in South Africa, thus enabling learners the opportunity to study towards a degree at any of its twelve campuses. MGI has degree-conferring status in South Africa, and besides its main campus in Midrand, MGI has many sites of delivery located throughout South Africa, making it possible for learners to attend their studies full-time at any of the MGI campuses.
CTI and MGI have both experienced solid growth over the past decade and are regarded by many as institutions of choice. They have established themselves as premium higher education institutions, delivering quality career-orientated qualifications not only to South African learners, but also to a large, ever-increasing international learner body. |
